Junior EurovisionMalta 2014

Bulgaria makes it 13!

Today Bulgarian broadcaster BNT officially submitted the paperwork declaring that after two years away the Balkan nation will be returning to Junior Eurovision.
This will mark the fourth participation for Bulgaria in Junior Eurovision after taking part previously in 2007, 2008 and 2011. Their best result came on their dรฉbut when Bon-Bon came 7th with their entry ‘Bonbolandia’ however a year laterย Krastyana Krasteva finished last (15th) with her entry ‘Edna Mechta’
This makes Bulgaria the 13th country so far to confirm their participation in the 2014 edition of Junior Eurovision, one more than participated in Kyiv last year. Portugal have also announced their intention to take part, but as yet have not submitted the paperwork. Meanwhile we are yet to hear from four countries whoย participated last year; Azerbaijan, San Marino, FYR Macedonia and Moldova.
This also spells good news for Eurovision fans who may have begun to worry about Bulgarian interests in the adult contest. Time will tell whether Bulgaria along with Serbia follow the example of Cyprus and announce the intention to send an entry to Austria next year.
