This week’s new releases include a Eurovision winner, a Junior Eurovision entrant and a singer who brought their country back to the final after two years of failing to qualify. Two of the artists in question have also participated in the Swedish national selection Melodifestivalen in recent years.
Before we start though, let’s bring you the results from last week’s article. In a landslide victory, you voted MaNga and their new rock anthem Parti as the best song from the bunch with an impressive 76%. Tim Schou’s Supernova followed with 22% and unfortunately for Tanja, her new dance track Forevermore only managed to scoop 2% of the vote.
Here are this week’s three new releases. Remember to cast your vote at the bottom of the page!
Molly Sandén – Freak Many of you will remember a much younger Molly representing Sweden in the 2006 Junior Eurovision Song Contest but if like me, you have an obsession with national finals then you’ll probably remember her competing in 2012’s Melodifestivalen with ‘Why Am I Crying?’. She’s back with new single Freak (which she’s also released on her own record label!) and it’s a spectacular haunting ballad that she not only written herself, but also hired the RedOne team to produce. It’s available to buy right now on iTunes (Worldwide).
Kurt Calleja – Vertigo He got Malta into the finals in 2012 with ‘This Is The Night’ and he’s now back with new single ‘Vertigo’ , the fifth to be taken from his album Love On Mars. If you were a fan of Kurt’s Eurovision entry, you’ll most probably like this one too! It’s a mid-tempo pop track that’s perfect to listen to on a warm summer evening. You can buy a physical copy of the album here
Helena Paparizou – Don’t Hold Back On Love Last up this week is 2005 winner Helena Paparizou with new single ‘Don’t Hold Back On Love’. After competing in Melodifestivalen this year with ‘Survivor’, she released new album One Life and this is the third song to be released from it. Already a big hit in Greece, this euro-dance number is also receiving radio airplay all over Europe. Have a listen below and buy the single here
