Belarus has selected 14 year old Nadezhda Misyakova to represent them at the 2014 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Malta.
Nadezhda tied for first place with two other performers before being declared the victor with her song ‘Sokol’ (‘Falcon’) after a jury re-vote.
This is the second attempt for Nadezhda to represent Belarus at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest after she finished 9th in last year’s selection.
Belarus is one of two countries to participate in every edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and is the only nation to début at the Junior edition prior to their début in the adult competition. Belarus is the most successful country in the contest’s history, with two wins, one second place and two third places.
