With September now upon us and the first act of Melodifestivalen 2015 now known, SVT have opened the submission window for next year’s contest.
Songwriters and authors will have just over two weeks to upload their material to SVT’s servers via a special webpage as submissions are set to close on the morning of Tuesday 16th September. The submission procedure has been separated into two categories, public competition and regular contest. Songwriters with no previous publishing work must submit into the Public Competition category. Those with a previous catalogue of work must submit into the Regular contest category
Once the submission window has closed, a selective panel at SVT will review the content uploaded to the site and begin to create a shortlist. It was previously announced that the broadcaster has called for more female authors to come forward by extending the requirement of female contributors to 50%.
Yesterday, Kalle Johansson was announced as the first act of the competition after being crowned the winner of the Svensktoppen Nästa contest.
