The submissions window for the Finnish national selection, Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK) is now open.
Interested singers and songwriters have until Monday 8th September to submit demos of their potential Eurovision entries to YLE via digital upload or memory stick. The rules state that the artist on the demo must be the intended performer of the song, and that the lead singer and at least one of the composers must be a Finnish citizen or permanent resident of Finland.
This will be the 4th time that UMK, the Contest for New Music, has been used to select the Finnish Eurovision entry; for the last two years the song chosen through this selection has made it to the final of Eurovision, with Softengine finishing 11th this year in Copenhagen.
The final of UMK will take place in March 2015, with the rest of the dates to be announced in due course. More information for those interested in participating can be found here.
