Romania will participate in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. This has been confirmed by broadcaster TVR, quashing rumours that had been circulating recently regarding the financial viability of another Eurovision campaign. Nonetheless, TVR board members unanimously approved Romania’s entry to the 60th contest.
There has been no word as to the nature of the Romanian selection process, so we do not yet know if the national final format used to select Paula and Ovi in 2014 will be repeated in this coming season.
Romania have competed in 16 Eurovision Song Contests, with third place finishes in 2005 and 2010 being the Balkan nation’s best result.
