In a press release earlier today, Sammarinese broadcaster SMRTV has announced that they will announce their decision on participation in Vienna on 11 October. The microstate has not yet confirmed a participation, nor a withdrawal in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.
On 11 October, during the TV Convention for the 2014/2015 television season, the broadcaster will reveal whether they will participate in Vienna or not. General Director of SMRTV Carlo Romeo states in the press release:
After last year success, we’re now facing a complex situation and we don’t exclude any of the hypothesis.
Rumours surfaced earlier this year that San Marino may be considering a withdrawal after scoring their best (and first) final result ever when Eurovision veteran Valentina Monetta finally qualified for the final, coming 24th with her song Maybe.
