Submission deadline extended

Good news for any singers or songwriters in Iceland who hadn’t quite got around to submitting their Eurovision-winning entry for 2015: the deadline has been extended to next Monday, 27th October. This means that there is still a few days for potential songs to be submitted to RÚV for consideration.
Anybody wishing to enter must remember that the national selection, Songvakeppnin, is open to Icelandic citizens and residents only, however international songwriters may participate as long as they are in a minority in the team.
Composers can enter a maximum of two songs, which must be in Icelandic, with an indication given as to whether they intend to sing in a different language should the song make it to Eurovision. If this is the case, the song may be performed in another language in the Songvakeppnin final.
The competition will take place in the new year, with the Icelandic entry for Eurovision 2015 being decided by a 50/50 split of televoting and juries.
