Important dates for the next contest released

Next year’s Eurovision host broadcaster i.e. ORF released a number of important dates towards the next Eurovision Song Contest to take place in Vienna on the 19th, 21st and 23rd May.
On 26th January 2015, the semi-final allocation draw will take place in Vienna. On the same day the Mayor of Copenhagen will hand over the keys to the Mayor of Vienna in a symbolic ceremony. The EBU announced the signing of a memorandum between the Mayor of Vienna Dr. Michael Häupl and ORF’s Director General, Dr. Alexander Wrabetz. The document defines the basics of the co-operation between the City and ORF.
The Head of Delegations meeting is scheduled for 16 and 17th March. This means that until that date all participating nations will have to select their entry for the forthcoming contest. Rehearsals at the Wiener Stadthalle are expected to start on 11th May while the welcome reception for the delegations will take place on 17th May.
Austria will host the Eurovision Song Contest for the second time, after Conchita Wurst’s triumph in Copenhagen with the song Rise Like a Phoenix.
