The EBU is introducing online voting in the 2014 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Junioreurovision.tv announced that countries outside the sixteen participating nations will be able to vote online.
The winner of the online voting will be announced during a press conference after the show. A trophy entitled ‘Online Award’ will be presented to the artist/s that will win the online voting.
The official Junior Eurovision site explained that during the tele-voting window, viewers of the online stream will be directed to an internet page, where they can vote online. Online viewers will be able to cast one vote for their favourite song. The voting will close at the same time as the tele-voting ends.
New televoting partner, Sound of Data, has developed the online voting platform alongside their preparations for the tele-voting, to ensure a series of controls are inbuilt to stop any potential vote manipulation.Only viewers outside the competing countries will be able to vote. Viewers from the competing countries can vote via tele-voting.
Yesterday Gaia Cauchi (winner of JESC 2013) launched the theme song for this year’s contest entitled #Together. The Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Malta on 15th November.
