In the build-up to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, escXtra.com decided it was time to have a chat with the contestants! Tonight, Italy’s Vincenzo Cantiello speaks to us. Read what he had to say below!
escXtra.com: Hey Vincenzo! How are you, such a short time before the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014?
Vincenzo Cantiello: I am very excited, I cannot wait to be in Malta to rehearse and meet all the other contestants!
X: How do you feel being the first Italian entrant for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest?
V: It’s a great honour to represent Italy and also a great responsibility, I will do my best!
X: Could you tell us something about yourself?
V: I am a very sensitive person, I like art and when I am not singing I love to draw, especially manga.
X: You’re quite a television veteran, having participated in Ti Lascio Una Canzone. How do you look back on that show?
V: It was a great opportunity for me to learn and see the business. I have met a lot of new friends.
X: Who are your musical idols? Do you perhaps have a (Junior) Eurovision song you like a lot?
V: I particularly like Adele, Christina Aguilera and Rebecca Ferguson. Regarding JESC I particularly liked Gaia Cauchi: she was fantastic on stage.
X: What is your song, Tu Primo Grande Amore, about?
V: It’s about the first love, and what a teenager experience when in love for the first time.
X: What are you most looking forward to in Malta?
V: Everything! Performing, being in a great TV production, meeting new people from all over Europe and, obviously, visiting a new country.
X: Now, to get to know you a bit better, what are your favourite subjects at school?
V: Definitely Literature, Art and Science!
X: What is your favourite food?
V: Tiramisu!
X: What are your other hobbies besides singing?
V: As I said before one of my greatest passion is drawing.
X: Finally, do you have a message for the readers of escXtra.com?
V: Sure: thanks a lot for reading this interview and please vote for me Saturday 15th!
We thank Vincenzo Cantiello for his time and would like to wish him the best of luck in this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest! Listen to his entry Tu Primo Grande Amore below!
