Vienna 2015

New national selection announced!

It has just been announced by LTV, the Latvian broadcaster, that Supernova 2015 will be the Latvian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. The format and rules of the selection were also revealed.
Latvia is already working to find their next entry, for Vienna. The broadcaster aims to select an entry which could be liked not only by Latvian citizens, but by the rest of Europe too. All the performers will be judged by a jury panel which will consist of both Latvian and foreign professionals.
Anyone can apply; from soloists to duets and groups. Composers are only allowed to send songs that were never published or played before. The deadline for applying is 10 December. If you’re interested, you can apply by filling in the following form. You may also find the rules here in Latvian.
The selection will consist of three semi-finals on 2, 8 and 15 February and a final on 22 February. The winner will be selected out of the four finalists via a mix of jury and televoting.
Latvia was represented by Aarzemnieki and the song “Cake to Bake” in Copenhagen. The song failed to qualify from the first semi-final after getting the 13th place with 33 points.

Dimitris Ioannou

I'm Dimitris, from Cyprus. Eurovision has been a big part of my life for so long now. My first memories of the contest go back to 2005, which was a special year as Greece had won with Helena Paparizou. But 2009 was truly the first year I became a die-hard Eurofan, which is why that year holds a special place in my heart.
