In the build-up to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, escXtra.com decided it was time to have a chat with the contestants! Today, Sweden’s Julia Kedhammar speaks to us. Read what she had to say below!
escXtra.com: Hey Julia! How are you, such a short time before the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014?
Julia Kedhammar: Fine thank you! I am very nervous but also excited!
X: How do you feel representing Sweden in Malta?
J: It is a big honour and I am very happy they chose me! I will do my best and have fun and I hope my country will be proud of me.
X: Could you tell us something about yourself?
J: Something not everybody knows is that I play football on my freetime and I love playing drums, and that I am frightened of spiders. 🙂 And now, I am dubbing two series from English to Swedish and they are going on TV soon!
X: Who are your musical idols? Do you perhaps have a (Junior) Eurovision song you like a lot?
J: Bruno Mars and Beyonce. I like all of the JESC songs, but Around, by Julia is very good!
X: What is your song, Du Är Inte Ensam, about?
J: It is about all the thoughts everybody has, how to fit in. But I want to tell everybody to just be who you are, and you will never be alone.
X: What are you most looking forward to in Malta?
J: Everything!! I will enjoy every second. I want to make new friends, have fun and do what I love: perform!
X: Now, to get to know you a bit better, what are your favourite subjects at school?
J: Swedish and Music!
X: What is your favourite food?
J: Pasta with pesto, the way my mother does it!
X: What are your other hobbies, besides singing?
J: Football, hanging with friends and family and songwriting. Also I love photographing, taking pictures!
X: Finally, do you have a message for the readers of escXtra.com?
