JESC 14 – Watch a video report from the opening ceremony

The opening ceremony for the 2014 Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place on Sunday evening at the historical and magnificent Verdala Palace. The welcome reception officially opened the Junior Eurovision week in Malta.
The draw for the running order took place after all artists from sixteen countries were given a red carpet treatment and shortly interviewed by Gianni Zammit. The host broadcaster, PBS proved to be well prepared and highly organised in what is described as the best opening ceremony ever held in the history of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Meanwhile rehearsals will kick-off this morning. Bulgaria is swapping with Armenia and the latter will rehearse in the afternoon instead as originally scheduled on Monday morning. This is due that the props to be used by Armenia is held at Frankfurt airport and it will arrive just on time for their rehearsal in the afternoon.
The rehearsal schedule for Monday is as follows;
The Netherlands 10:00 – 10:40
Sweden 10:40 – 11:20
Bulgaria 11:20 – 12:00
Russia 12:00 – 12:40
BREAK
Italy 13:40 – 14:20
Ukraine 14:20 – 15:00
Armenia 15:00 – 15:40
Cyprus 15:40 – 16:20
Euroclub will open tomorrow at 20:00 at the official hotel for the 2014 Junior Eurovision Song Contest (Grand Hotel Excelsior in Valletta).
