Cornelia Jakobs confirmed for Eurovision in Concert with another Swedish special guest

Two Swedish artists confirmed for Amsterdam's concert!

Sweden’s Eurovision 2022 representative Cornelia Jakobs has been confirmed to perform at Eurovision in Concert on April 9th. The organizer has also booked another Swedish artist as the special guest, the 2012 winner Loreen.

After taking part in Melodifestivalen twice as part of the girl group Love Generation without making it to the final, Cornelia Jakobs finally qualified to the final of Melodifestivalen in 2022 with the song “Hold Me Closer”. After exciting voting sequence, Cornelia won the contest by being the favourite of the international jury and finishing second with the Swedish public. The song “Hold Me Closer” is written by Isa Molin, David Zandén and Cornelia Jakobsdotter herself.

After winning Melodifestivalen 2022, Cornelia Jakobs will represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin. Sweden will compete in the second semifinal of the contest on May 12th and Cornelia will perform as the second-last artist of the night.

Earlier today the Eurovision 2012 winner Loreen was also confirmed to perform at the Eurovision in Concert and the after-party. The official Eurovision in Concert after-party takes place right after concert, at the Isla Talent Stage of the concert venue AFAS Live. Tickets are limited and can be purchased at the event Amsterdam Calling on April 8th and at the door of AFAS Live on April 9th. The first artist confirmed for the after-party was Serbia’s Eurovision 2015 representative Bojana Stamenov.

In 2019, a total of 28 competing artists performed in The Netherlands’ capital. This year Eurovision in Concert will take place on April 9th, with the Eurovision 2021 host Edsilia Rombley and Cornald Maas in hosting duties. The tickets are still available and can be found here.

Several Dutch artists have been confirmed as supporting acts for the Eurovision 2022 artists. Maggie MacNeal, who represented The Netherlands back in 1974 as part of the duo Mouth & MacNeal and in 1980 as a solo artist with “Amsterdam”, was the first supporting act to be announced. Linda Wagenmakers will also warm up the stage with her 2000 entry “No Goodbyes”. Fans will also be able to enjoy performances by Teach-In’s Getty Kaspers with the winning song of 1975 “Ding-a-Dong” and Marga Bult, who represented The Netherlands in 1987 with the song “Rechtop in de wind”.
