Swedish national broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT) have just announced that the artists participating in Melodifestivalen 2015 will be revealed at the start of next week.
As is now tradition for SVT, both of the artist presentations will take place in a press conference. Artists who will perform in semifinals 1 and 2 will be presented on Monday morning, whilst the artists in semifinals 3 and 4 will be unveiled on Tuesday morning.
Last year, Sanna Nielsen won the trophy in dramatic fashion, beating Ace Wilder by just 2 points, the closest margin of victory in Melodifestivalen since the current format began in 2002.
This year only 7 songs will participate in each semifinal, reducing the total entries from 32 to 28. Each week, the top two will qualify to the final with 3rd and 4th place songs proceeding to Andra chansen, the second chance round. From Andra chansen, four songs will gain a ticket to the Final, increasing the number of finalists this year to 12.
Semifinal 1 will take place on 7 February 2015 in Göteborg.
