Today, ORF has launched its search for volunteers to be a part of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna.
The organisers are looking for a large number of keen helpers to fill many roles for the two and a half weeks leading up to the contest in order to ensure the smooth running of the event, and to ensure the visiting fans, press and delegations have as memorable and comfortable a stay as possible.
According to the executive producer of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, Edgar Böhm:
It’s been nearly 50 years that the Eurovision Song Contest was held in Austria – this grand event is an incredible experience for our team, which will stay in our memories forever. Volunteers are the front line of the Eurovision Song Contest. They are the calling cards of the event and the entire country. They have extreme influence on how visitors will view Austria after two straight weeks of constant interaction.
Anybody who wishes to apply to be a volunteer can do so at songcontest.orf.at with a CV and cover letter. Castings take place all over Austria in the first half of February. Volunteers must be over 18, speak fluent German and English, and be available for the final casting session on 14th-15th March, and for Eurovision itself between 4th and 24th May.
