Eesti Laul submission ends Monday, songs revealed before Friday

Estonian broadcaster ERR has just reported that they have received the highest number of songs they have ever received on a single night – 36.
As the deadline for song submission looms, it seems most artists are leaving their entries until the last minute. People interested in entering Eesti Laul have only until the 1st of December at 15:00 local time to submit their entries.
The jury will then begin the hard task of cutting the submissions down to 20 and aim to be able to reveal them before Friday 5th of December. It is expected that these will once again be revealed on Estonian current affairs show Ringvaade.
Executive producer of the show Heidy Purga has hinted that this year the show will retain the show’s traditions it has built up while changing certain elements;

“Eesti Laul continues to value cooperation between creative fields – great design in the shape of on-screen graphics, the compositions of a young talented music producer during the show, and quality humour all meet in the making of this production. The participants and choosing the winner remains the most important part though, and we expect the active participation of the audience in discerning the winner this year as well.”

This year as reported back in September, Eesti Laul’s final show will have a three-way super final rather than the previous two-way superfinal.
This will be the 7th edition of Eesti Laul. Since it’s creation it has returned Estonia to the final four times and produced two songs that did not qualify.
