Vienna 2015

Hosts for Eurovision 2015 announced

Austrian broadcaster ORF has announced their hosts for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. The three hosts are Mirjam Weichselbraun, Alice Tumler and Arabella Kiesbauer. ORF is giving us girl power on the main stage! They will be accompanied by Conchita Wurst, who’ll be the Green Room host after winning the competition in Copenhagen this year.
Seeing three hosts in the Eurovision Song Contest is nothing new. Even last year, Denmark used the same formula. Unique however is that all three hosts are female.  Furthermore, ORF announced that Conchita will perform not only her winning song Rise Like A Phoenix, but also act in other acts, presumably intervals and/or opening shows.
Mirjam Weichselbraun is one of Austria’s most popular TV hosts, having hosted the MTV Europe Music Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards before. The 33 year old has also hosted the Austrian version of Stricly Come Dancing and festivals like Rock am Ring. She will also host the Austrian national final.
35 year old Alice Tumler is a true miracle with languages: she speaks five languages and is both an Austrian and French citizen. She hosts TV shows on ORF, but also on ARTE and France Television, where she worked on the show Thalassa. Currently, she hosts a music show in three languages on ARTE: One Shot Not.
Finally, Arabella Kiesbauer is one of the faces of the battle against racism in Austria. She’s received multiple awards for her fight after being the subject of racist bomb letters in the 90s. The 45 year old has worked for ORF before and is now a TV host for other channels in Austria.
