Without much notice before, French broadcaster France 2 have announced their act for Vienna. Lisa Angell will sing N’Oubliez Pas in the Grand Final of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.
Lisa Angell is a 46 year old singer from Paris. She has released three albums so far, with Des Mots… in 2013 being the most successful in the charts, peaking at #30. The song she will sing, N’Oubliez Pas, is about remembering World War I, but has obviously got a new significance after the recent terrorist attacks in Paris. The song was written by Robert Goldman, the brother of Jean-Jacques Goldman, a famous French singer and composer. You can listen to a snippet here.
About her participation Lisa Angell stated:
It is my great pleasure to announce to you that I will represent France in the Eurovision Song Contest on 23 May in Vienna.
I’m proud and happy!
Last year, France finished last in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time. Twin Twin only managed to pick up two points for their Moustache.
