Allocation draw pots revealed

Tomorrow is a key date in the Eurovision calendar as the 2015 contest really begins to take off with the Semi Final Allocation Draw.  By tomorrow afternoon, the countries taking part will know which semi final they will perform and whether they will perform in the first or second half.

Due to the unbalanced number of participants this year, it has been announced that the First Semi Final will include 16 countries, with the second including 17 countries.

Based on voting patterns and to ensure a fair allocation,  the countries are split into five pots.   These have already been decided and are as follows:

Montenegro
Slovenia
Switzerland
Serbia
Malta

Pot 2
Denmark
Finland
Estonia
Norway
Sweden
Iceland
Latvia

Pot 3
Azerbaijan
Belarus
Georgia
Israel
Russia
Armenia
Lithuania

Pot 4
Belgium
Cyprus
Greece
Ireland
The Netherlands
San Marino

Pot 5
Hungary
Moldova
Romania
Portugal
Poland
Czech Republic

Tomorrow’s draw will also determine which Semi Final the big five countries and Austria will vote in.  Germany has been granted permission by the Reference Group to vote in the Second Semi Final. on 21st May.
