Switzerland is choosing their entry tonight, so it’s time to speak to another participant of tonight’s Die Große Entscheidungsshow. We spoke to the girl who’s hoping to fly the Swiss flag in Vienna: Licia Chery! Read what she had to say below!
escXtra.com: Hey Licia! First of all, thanks for doing this interview! How are you, just before the Swiss national final?
Licia Chery: Hey! I’m doing good thank you 🙂 I’m excited, I’m working hard, but it’s worth it. how about you?
X: Could you introduce yourself to our readers?
L: I am Licia Chery, 29 years old. Singer, composer and song writer, I’m loving life and I’m doing my best to make you love it too by singing songs that try to make you smile.
X: What’s your music philosophy?
L: I think that if you sing, you have to have a message. Something to share. It’s funny to sing very simple songs every now and then cause we need it too but most of the time, you have to try to touch people’s hearts.
X: Who are your musical idols?
L: There are a lot of them but to name a few, I’ll say Michael Jackson, Otis Redding, Janis Joplin the Beatles back then, and Ray Lamontagne, Musiq Soulchild, Mary J Blidge or Corinne Bailey Rae right now.
X: Could you tell us something about the song, Fly?
L: Not really cause the song says it all 🙂 Just fly with me! I’m asking all of you to put your troubles aside for a while and to look at the bright side of life…
X: What’s going to be your special ingredient to win the national final?
L: heheheh surprise, surprise!!!!
X: Why did you decide to apply for Eurovision?
L: Swiss national television asked me and I said why not!
X: Are you a Eurovision fan?
L: I’m not a fan but I like it! I like the concept, I like the atmosphere and I really, really, really want to be a part of it this year!!!
X: Do you have an all time favourite Eurovision song?
L: Of course! It’s the song FLY by Licia Chery. Do you know it? Amazing song! Hahahah

L: All I have to say is no matter what, go for it! Follow your dreams and your passions. It’s the only way to be at ease with yourself 🙂
