Giannis Karagiannis selected for Eurovision 2015

Giannis Karagiannis will represent Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest. After a two hour show held in the national broadcaster’s studios in Nicosia, Giannis Karagiannis won the ticket to Vienna with the song One Thing I Should Have Done.
The national final was contested by six acts and the overall result was determined by a 50/50 split in the jury and public vote. The jury for tonight was made up by Elena Patroklou (1991), Alex Panayi (1995 and 2000), Despina Olympiou (2013), Nicola Caligiore (Head of the Italian Delegation) and Bruno Berberes (former French Head of Delegation). This year’s Cypriot entry is written by Giannis himself together with Mike Connaris, the latter wrote Stronger Every Minute for Lisa Andreas in Eurovision 2004.
Cyprus is returning in the contest after a one year absence. The Mediterranean island will compete in the second semi-final on 21st May. In the last Eurovision appearance, the country failed to qualify to the final. Giannis Karagiannis will try to put Cyprus back on track and manage to make it to the grand final on 23rd May.
