Czech Republic have revealed that Marta Jandová and Václav Noid Bárta will represent them in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. Their song has already been written and it’s called Hope Never Dies. CT will present the song at a later date.
The duet was formed especially for the Eurovision Song Contest. Marta Jandová has a great career in Germany, where she is the lead singer of the group Die Happy. She scored a huge hit together with Revolverheld with Halt Dich An Mir Fest. She’s 41 years old and says, about participating in Eurovision:
I’ve lived in Germany for ten years, where everyone watches the Eurovision Song Contest. It’s a big night for them, probably also because they won twice. That’s why it’s interesting in two ways for me, because many of my German friends will watch it.
Václav Noid Bárta is a 34 year old singer, originating from Prague. He was previously part of the band Dolores Clan. Václav is also the composer of Hope Never Dies. About working with Marta and going to Eurovision, he said:
I’m really happy, it’s an honour for me. Together with Marta, who’s really experienced, we’ll do the best we can for the Czech Republic. It’s not a big tradition here yet, but I’ve seen it from friends abroad. It’s almost like a national holiday for them.
The Czech broadcaster has not yet revealed when their song is going to be presented. The song was produced by Ondrej Soukup.
