Former Eurovision entrant Donna McCaul has announced she’s going to audition on The Voice USA. The Irish singer has made it through to the Blind Auditions.
Donna McCaul and Lauren White, her girlfriend, moved to Los Angeles a while ago to focus on their careers overseas. After opening an Irish pub there, Donna is now trying to make it big in the United States. About her participation on The Voice USA, she told us:
I’m doing it to start getting recognized as a singer here in the States. I want to be taken serious as a singer.
The 30 year old will appear on the eighth season of the show. The new season will premiere on 23 February. Donna will appear in front of coaches Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams. She’s following a latest trend of former Eurovision singers who enter The Voice all over the world. Several others include Rui Drummond (Portugal 2005, won The Voice Portugal), Aliona Moon (Moldova 2013, came fourth in the latest season of The Voice Romania) and member of Bucks Fizz (1981 winner for the United Kingdom) Jay Aston, who failed to make it past the Blind Auditions.
Donna McCaul participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with her brother Joe and their songย Love?, which failed to make it through to the final. She then made it to the 2012 Irish national final, where she came third with her songย Mercy.
escXtra.com would like to wish Donna McCaul the best of luck on The Voice USA!
