Zoltán Mujahid: “To be authentic is vital.” [Interview]

The next heat of A Dal will take place this Saturday, so time for escXtra.com to speak to another participant. This time, we spoke to Zoltán Mujahid who’s taking place with his song Beside You! Read what he had to say below!
escXtra.com: Hey Zoltán! First of all, thanks for doing this interview! How are you, a few weeks before A Dal starts?
Zoltán Mujahid: I am very excited and await the start of the Dal very impatiently.  I work hard to be in the best form to impress the jury and the audience with my performance.
X: Could you introduce yourself to us?
Z: My name is Zoltan Mujahid and I was born in Karachi, Pakistan. I was 11 years old when we moved to Hungary with my mother who is a Hungarian.  Since my very young age I have been learning music and singing.  I finished Jazz Conservatory and then the Liszt Ferenc Music University.  I made several albums and participated in various song contests with success.  Music is my life.
X: Who are your musical idols?
Z: Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, George Michael and from the contemporaries my favourite is Beyonce.
X: What can you tell us about your musical philosophy?
Z: I am a singer and also a composer. For me it is important that the song’s message and the singing should be in harmony.   To be authentic is vital.
X: Why did you decide to apply for A Dal 2015?
Z: It is a huge opportunity to show myself and my song to a wide audience.
X: Could you tell us more about your song Beside You?
Z: The song was inspired by a close friend who is battling a terminal illness. I wanted her to know that I am by her side all the time and she can rely on me. She should feel she is not alone. To have support is the most important of all.
X: What’s going to be your special ingredient to win A Dal?
Z: Good music, good song and good performance.  To win the audience’s sympathy.
X: What’s your favourite place in Hungary?
Z: Lake Balaton is my favourite place in summer and I also like my hometown Budapest, which is a beautiful city.
X: Are you a Eurovision fan?
Z: I had watched Eurovision in the past and will watch in the future. It is my great dream to be there once.
X: Do you have an all time favourite Eurovision song?
Z: Loreen’s song in Baku is my favourite of all times.
X: Finally, do you have a message for the readers of escXtra.com?
Z: Please watch me on February 7 and let me know how did you like it and whether I needed to make any changes to be even better. If you liked my song please listen to my other songs on the net.  Thank you.
escXtra.com would like to thank Zoltán Mujahid for his time and we’d like to wish him the best of luck in Saturday’s heat of A Dal! Watch his song Beside You below!
