Kati Wolf: “Fans of Eurovision gave a lot to me!” [Interview]

She may be one of the most familiar names in tomorrow’s A Dal heat. She was the fan favourite in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 and now, for the first time, she’ll have to compete in a national final to once again win the right to represent Hungary in Eurovision: It’s Kati Wolf! Read what she had to say below!
escXtra.com: Hey Kati! Thanks for doing this interview! How are you, so short before A Dal kicks off for you?
Kati Wolf: I’m very well thanks, and very excited, full with kind of nostalgic feelings. 🙂
X: Why did you decide to try and return to Eurovision?
K: I really felt that Eurovision was a finished, full, fantastic  story in my life. I feel, that in 2011 my song was one of the bests, I did my best, and What about my dreams still lives in the soul of fans. But now I have a brand new song, Ne Engedj El! (The Less I Care), and I think it is a very strong, and powerfull song, so I want to show it and make  to compete.
X: When you went to Eurovision in 2011, you were internally selected. This time you need to fight 29 others for the right to fly the Hungarian flag. Does that increase pressure for you?
K: No, I like to be on stage in a high quality, very popular show.  In 2010 I applied to the Hungarian X-factor, and I was one of the finalist, so I had a lot of that kind of fight situation. Now I compete with a very good song, I trust in fans, and I know, they like my song too. I practise a lot, and focus on my singing and performance, and I will do my best again…

X: How do you look back on Eurovision 2011?
K: If you ask anyone who has been participating in Eurovision, everybody says that it was his or her greatest experience ever. I say the same, because it’s true! I’ve never been singing on a stage like this before, I will always remember the full arena, the standing ovation and how people were singing with me… (goose-skin 🙂 ). In November I had a concert in London, and fans  were singing my song with me, even the Hungarian part, wow, what more a singer could dream about?
X: What About My Dreams? was an ultimate fan favourite. Do you think Ne Engedj El! can do the same?
K: Yes!!!
X: What’s your song Ne Engedj El about?
K: It’s about love, of course. Everything is about love! NE engedj El! tells you the situation when you are in love with someone, but the other one is not sure in love. The song is about “decide if you love me or not, and if not, than leave…”.

X: What’s your favourite thing to eat or drink?
K: Spagetti with tomato, Mozart kugeln and coffee.
X: Are you a Eurovision fan?
K: Of course!
X: Do you have an all time favourite Eurovision song?
K: Euphoria from Loreen  is my absolute favourite.
X: Finally, do you have a message for the readers of escXtra.com?
