UMK artists Erika Vikman and Ilta have been nominated for Emma Awards, the most prestigious music awards in Finland.
Is “Syntisten pöytä” the song of the year?
UMK20 fan favourite Erika Vikman got nominated in two categories. Her single “Syntisten pöytä” is one of the six nominees in the category Song of the Year. She is also nominated as the Finnish Artist or Band of the Year, which is decided by the Finnish public. Recently Erika got more good news as it was announced that “Syntisten pöytä” has streamed enough in Finland to give her a platinum record.
UMK21 contestant Ilta also got two nominations, including the Finnish Artist or Band of the Year. She also has nomination in the category Best Schlager with her album Näitä hetkiä varten. Those who expect Ilta to maybe bring Helena Fischer type of schlager to UMK21 might get disappointed, as Finnish Schlager music is slightly different from the Central European Schlager. Ilta’s entry “Kelle mä soitan” will be released tonight, January 21, at 23:00CET.
BEHM, who performed as the interval act in Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2020 got the most nominations this year, six in total.
