🇫🇷 Barbara Pravi holds press conference with France Télévisions

With just over a month until the Grand Final, Barbara Pravi gives us an insight into her Eurovision journey so far!

Since her win in Eurovision France – C’est vous qui décidez!, Barbara Pravi has been busy promoting her entry “Voila”. This Monday, France Télévisions held a press conference together with her where she answered questions from all over the world.

Barbara’s plans for Eurovision

During the press conference, we find ourselves in the room in which Barbara actually wrote and composed “Voila”! She states how excited she is for May 22nd and that she can’t wait to go on to the Eurovision stage and represent France.

Furthermore, the French delegation made it very clear that their intention is to win Eurovision 2021, as they would love to host the competition in 2022. On top of that, a documentary about Barbara’s journey, directed by Gianluca Materrese, will be released soon.

Valentina, the winner of Junior Eurovision 2020 made an appearance as well, sending Barbara the best of luck for Rotterdam via a video message.

When asked about her favourite place in Paris, Barbara mentioned the neighbourhood in which she lives, the area around Montmartre. Barbara also declared that Portugal 2017 is her favourite winning song and she actually plans on releasing a cover of “Amar pelos dois” soon.

A surprise announcement!

France Télévisions seized the opportunity and revealed that the French representative from Junior Eurovision 2019, Carla, will present the French points at Eurovision 2021!

About Barbara Pravi

Born to a family of artists and musicians, Barbara has released three EPs to date – Barbara Pravi (2018), Reviens pour l’hiver (2020) and Les prières (2021). In addition to her own music, she has been composing and writing for other artists since 2014.

Her most notable credits to date for most Eurovision fans will be France’s recent Junior Eurovision entries. In 2019, she composed the song “Bim Bam Toi” for Carla, who ended up placing 5th in the contest before the song went viral on TikTok. Barbara went on to write “J’imagine” for Valentina, who went on to win the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Fresh of her success as a writer, she was soon announced as one of the competing contestants of Eurovision France – C’est vous qui décidez!, having been approached previously to participate in Destination Eurovision. Barbara went on to win the selection with a landslide 204 points to runner-up Juliette Moraine’s 136. The song is currently second in the odds to win the contest.
