#ESC250: Käärijä – Cha Cha Cha wins this year’s vote!

The Eurovision fandom is full of traditions and on the last day of the year, ESC250 sure is the one. For the fifteenth time, songfestival.be has organised #ESC250, this time in collaboration with EFR12Radio. The list containing the 250 most loved Eurovision songs of all time will be broadcast today on EFR12Radio. ESCXTRA will be with you all day to bring you the results live on Twitter and in this article!

#ESC250 history

2022 will be the fifteenth edition of the #ESC250. Aside from the tradition to host it on 31st December, it also used to be a bit of a tradition that Loreen tops the list. However, last year, she was suddenly dethroned by Chanel and her Spanish 2022 entry SloMo. The only other songs that have ever won #ESC250 are Neka Mi Ne Svane (#185 last year), Is It True (#95) and Lane Moje (#34). Euphoria got to #2 last year. In the top three we found another Swedish entry, with Hold Me Closer claiming #3. Fuego by Eleni Foureira, the Cypriot entry of 2018, made it to #4. The winning entry of 2021, Måneskin’s Zitti e buoni, closed the top five. The oldest song in the top ten was once again Dime, Spain’s 2003 effort, climbing one spot to #8.

Nel blu dipinto di blu by Domenico Modugno was the oldest entry on the list, coming in at #236, and was also the oldest non-winning song to make the list last year. The only other entry to make it from the 1950s was Birthe Wilke’s 1959 entry for Denmark. Uh, Jeg Ville Ønske Jeg Var Dig came in at #245. 28 songs from Eurovision 2022 made the list last year. It is expected, based on previous years’ patterns, that many of these will be replaced by 2023 songs. Will Käärijä, Loreen or Chanel top the list this year?
