Melodifestivalen 2022: semi-final

Group 1:
1. Tone Sekelius – My Way
2. Alvaro Estrella – Suave
3. Danne Stråhed – Hallabaloo
4. Anna Bergendahl – Higher Power
Group 2:
1. THEOZ – Som du vill
2. Lisa Miskovsky – Best to Come
3. Lillasyster – Till Our Days Are Over
4. Cazzi Opeia – I Can’t Get Enough

The semi-final was introduced for the first time this year. Previously the fifth show of Melodifestivalen was entitled andra chansen, the second chance. Two songs from each heat qualified to the semi-final. Tonight they were drawn in two groups in a completely random order. The running order, decided by the producers of Melodifestivalen, was later revealed.

The Swedish people will have five votes to be distributed for each of the songs. From each of the two groups, the two entries that receive most points in total from the eight voting groups advance to the final. In each of the two groups, the eight voting groups each award 35 points on the scale of 12-10-8-5 points. If two entries have received the same total points from the voting groups, the largest number of votes decides the qualifier.

Eight songs have qualified to the final so far. The final of Melodifestivalen 2022 takes place on March 12th from Friends Arena. The winner will be decided by the Swedish public together with the international juries and will represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin. Sweden will compete in the second semifinal of the contest.
