A day after RTÉ confirmed that long lasting rumour Lesley Roy would indeed fly their flag at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, she took to the stage on television for the first time on the Late Late Show.

It’s become a bit of a tradition for Ireland’s Eurovision entries to get their live premiere on the talkshow. Previously, RTÉ even used it as their national final before going back to internal selections in 2016.

Below you can watch the 33-year old Balbriggan singer give it her all on “Story Of My Life”. She wrote the song together with Catt Gravitt, Robert Marvin and Tom Shapiro. Fans and bookmakers have reacted fairly positively to the Irish entry, as both the odds and the MyEurovisionScoreboard app place Ireland in the midfield at the moment.

After a year’s absence in the final, Lesley Roy will now try to bring Ireland back to Saturday’s show. She will need to do so by qualifying from the first half of the first semifinal, on 12th May.
