Måns Zelmerlöw premieres brand new single “Hanging On To Nothing”

Winner of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, and host of the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Måns Zelmerlöw performed his brand new single Hanging On To Nothing for the first time on television this evening. The exclusive TV premiere took place live on TV4’s popular summer entertainment show Sommarkrysset where Måns also performed his previous single Fire In The Rain.
The new single suggests Måns could be pursuing a new, more synthpop sound rather than the “organic” dance-pop sound of his recent material. This song in particular also features a brass band that contributes significantly to the chorus to give the song a unique, timeless quality.
Hanging On To Nothing is scheduled to be the first single from Måns’ upcoming seventh studio album and is due for official release on Friday August 26th. His upcoming album will be the follow-up to 2015’s Perfectly Damaged which, released shortly after his Eurovision victory, gave Måns his first taste of international success after several successful album releases in his homeland of Sweden.

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
