Denmark’s national selection, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, will take place on 25th February at the Jyske Bank Boxen in the city of Herning.
DR’s entertainment manager, Jan Storage Lundme, says they are looking forward to creating the show in “The Box” due the the terrific atmosphere and since “Box is one of the best places in the country to produce television in”.
However, this is not the first time the contest has come to Herning. In 2009 and most recently in 2013 Herning held the competition when Emmelie De Forest brought Denmark the Eurovision trophy. Hopefully Herning can boost their chances in the contest given their failure to qualify the past two years. Could 2017 be the year of Denmark’s fourth Eurovision victory?
Dansk Melodi Grand Prix moves around the country every year to bring the Eurovision spirit to the entire population, taking place in Odense, Aalborg, and Horsens since 2014.
