Kyiv 2017

Submissions open for France 2017

France 2 is calling for authors, composers, and performers to submit their songs to be performed in Kyiv next year. Any combination of authors, composers can submit their interest to wave the tricolor for France in May. As of now, we don’t know when the French entry will be revealed but we can assume it will be by March 2017.
An open submission was also held for France last year, after Edoardo Grassi became the new French Head of Delegation. “J’ai Cherché” performed by Amir was announced as the French entry on 29th February 2016 and featured lyrics in both French and English. France had been relatively unsuccessful before 2016, placing 23rd, 16th, and 25th most recently. However, “J’ai Cherché” was a hit with the juries, finshing in 3rd place. After placing 9th in the televote, Amir secured 6th place overall for France – France’s highest finish since 2002.

Do you think France can gain another top 10 finish? Or even win the entire contest next year? Let us know in the comments below!
