Czech Republic’s national broadcaster, Ceska Televizie has confirmed that the country will be present at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, which is set to take place in Kyiv, Ukraine.
The broadcaster as will choose the act via internal selection, and has already made a call to all international composers to submit their songs, in a length of no more than 3 minutes.
The decision will be taken by music experts as well as professionals from Ceska Televizie, and they will first choose the song, and then the artist.
Jan Potměšil, Eurovision’s project Creative Director, said that “finding a song that matches the current world music trends and can stand the intense competition at Eurovision is very difficult, so even with Czech artists it is absolutely normal that they cooperate with foreign authors and producers. I am convinced that this wide opening in the song selection will lead to a higher quality on the songs”
Last year in Stockholm, the Czech Republic made history, when Gabriela Guncikova took the country to the final for the first time, delivering a powerful performance of her song I Stand.

Will the Czech Republic make it to the final again? Which artist would you like to see next year in Kyiv? Leave suggestions bellow!
