RAI, the Italian national broadcaster has today confirmed their participation for Eurovision 2017, through their Facebook page.
Dates for San Remo 2017 have already been released, with it starting on the 7th of February and concluding on the 11th of February 2017. Previously, the winner of the festival has gone on to represent their nation at Eurovision (2011, 2013 and 2015) or entrants that have participated in a particular category within the festival have been internally selected and revealed as the countries Eurovision representative on the last night of the contest (2012, 2014, 2016).
Italy have participated in each edition of the Eurovision Song Contest since their return in 2011, and were represented by Francesca Michielin who sang her entry ‘No Degree of Separation’ in Stockholm this year which finished in 16th place in the Grand final with a total of 124 points.
