The winner of the 61st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, Jamala, has just released the music video for ‘1944’.
The video was directed and choreographed by Anatoly Sachivko. The shooting lasted three days and took place in Chernivtsi, in the Bukovina Carpathians, at an abandoned military base named Pamir on the top of the Tomnatyk mountain, which is located at an altitude of 1565 meters above sea level.
‘The music video is about a world where something has gone wrong, a story of misfortune and tragedy’ – said Jamala in a press conference yesterday. According to Jamala, the shooting was her toughest one yet, ‘it is not only about the deportation of the Crimean Tartars, it is a story of suffering’ she stated.
