The Swedish broadcaster SVT announced the official hosts of Melodifestivalen 2017 today at a press conference. In 2017 Clara Henry, David Lindgren, and Hasse Andersson will be our hosts each Saturday evening.
The trio’s veteran, Hasse Andersson, achieved an unexpected success when he competed in Melodifestivalen 2015 and finished in fourth place in the final with “Guld och Gröna skogar”. David Lindgren is no newcomer to the show, as he competed three times in the contest -2012, 2013 and 2016- being a fourth place in 2012 his best result.
Clara Henry is a Swedish blogger, comedian, and author with her own talk show at Kanal 5 Play. At Melodifestivalen 2014 she was a reporter for the backstage area at SVT Play.
–I‘m incredibly proud and happy. There is such a delightful anticipation of what we can do in the contest. With these personalities, we have great opportunities to entertain with some different styles and genres in between acts and content– said Melodifestivalen project manager Anette Helenius.
In the weeks to come, we are going to know the names of the 28 acts, the song titles and the composers that will compete to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv.
The trio will kick off the shows with the first semifinal on February 4th, 2017.
