Valletta 2016

Junior Eurovision: Cypriot entry 'Dance Floor' revealed

A few weeks ago, Cyprus was confirmed to be taking part in this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and 13-year-old George Michaelides was internally chosen to represent the island. The song has been officially premiered this evening on RIK1’s newscast.

CyBC announced back in September that George Michaelides would be the one representing the country in Valletta with the song ‘Dance Floor’, composed by the Cypriot Andreas Anastasiou and the Swede Jonas Gladnikoff. The music video has been directed by Maria Charis.

Cyprus hasn’t been a lucky country in the junior competition, achieving its best results in both 2004 and 2006 with an eighth place. Their last participation was in 2014, when Sophia Patsalides ended up in ninth place. Will George change the country’s fate in the competition? What do you think?

I am a politics student and geopolitics lover who lives and breathes Eurovision every single day of the year. I also love blasting schlager on my headphones while wearing an unamused face.
