Ukraine: Final version, music video for “Planet Craves For Love” released

Last month, Ukraine selected Sofia Rol to represent the country at the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with her song Planet Craves For Love. Sofia convincingly won the televote and finished in second place with the juries to secure her a win once the votes were combined. Today, Ukrainian broadcaster NTU have revealed the final version of the song along with the official video clip which you can watch below. Along with a few instrumental changes, Sofia now switches to English later in the song compared to the initial version.
Ukraine have had mixed fortunes since their debut at the contest in 2006. The country has reached the top 5 on four of their 10 appearances, including one victory – Nebo by Anastasiya Petryk in 2012 – and two second place finishes – Matrosy by Anastasiya’s older sister Viktoria in 2008 and We Are One by Sofia Tarasova in 2013. Last year, Anna Trincher’s very professional performance of Pochny z sebe (Start With Yourself) reached a respectable 11th place in Bulgaria.

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
