Italy has announced their representative for Junior Eurovision! 12-year-old Fiamma Boccia is set to represent the country in Malta next month after being internally selected by Rai. The broadcaster has previously used “Ti lascio una canzone” to select their artist but due to the show’s cancellation, that was no longer possible. The song she will sing is called “Cara Mamma (Dear Mom)“.
Fiamma was born in Florence on November 25th, 2003 and currently lives with her parents, older sister Emilia, and her two cats Mimi and Musetta. Back in 2013, she participated in “Zecchino d’Oro“, a long-standing singing competition for Italian kids that is organized in Bologna by the choir of the friars of the Antoniano, where she managed to end in a respectable 2nd place.
Music has been a big part of her life since she was very young: she’s been playing the piano since she was 4 and she still sings for Piccolo Coro Melograno – a choir in her native Florence. When she’s not involved with music, she studies at a middle school, enjoys Harry Potter, and reads quite a lot.
Fiamma will be the 3rd Italian representative in Junior Eurovision. The country debuted in 2014 when they won the contest with “Tu primo grande amore“, sung by Vincenzo Cantiello.
