Armenia 2017: The story so far

The search for Armenia’s 2017 representative is really heating up now with the contestants all vying for a place in one of the teams. The panel consists of Hayko (2007), Inga and Anush (2009, plus Inga was a part of Geneology in 2015), Aram MP3 (2014), Essai (2015 as part of Geneology) and Iveta Mukuchyan (2016). Before looking at who managed to make it on one of the judges teams, let’s take a look at all the qualifiers from the audition phase of the selection.

In the first audition episode the following 12 contestants managed to impress at least 4 of the 6 judges:

In the second instalment of the auditions, a further 12 qualified:

And in the third and final round of auditions another 13 managed to qualify to the next round:

With a total of 37 acts qualifying to the next stage it was time for the judges to decide who they would like to mentor on the path to Eurovision 2017, knowing that only four acts could be mentored by each mentor.
Here’s a recap of each of the judges’ teams and who’s still in the running to represent Armenia in Kiev:
Team Hayko: Egine and Anna Danielyan (which leaves 2 spaces left on his team)
Team Inga: Suzanne Melkonyan (which leaves 3 spaces on her team)
Team Anush: Stephan Hovhannisyan (which leaves 3 more spaces on her team)
Team Aram: Lucy, Saro Gevorgyan and JuJo (which leaves only 1 space on his team)
Team Essai: Opera Viva and Artsvik (which leaves 2 more spaces on his team)
Team Iveta: Christina Mangasaryan and Vahe Aleksanyan (which leaves 2 more spaces on his team)
So with the road to finding Armenia’s next Eurovision entrant really heating up, who else will be successful in winning a place on either 6 judges team? You’ll have to wait for the next episode of ‘Depi Evratesil’ which will air on Saturday 5th November 2016 on channel 1tv.am.
