SVT have today announced that they are finally ready to unveil the artists competing in Melodifestivalen 2017. And thankfully, the wait is not a long one!
National Final season is just around the corner and its fair to say that Sweden’s Melodifestivalen is without a doubt one of the most popular highlights of the Eurovision year to many. Rumours have been rife over the past few weeks as to who will compete in next February’s competition and today, Swedish broadcaster SVT finally halted any speculation by announcing that all 28 competing artists and song titles would be officially revealed in a press conference, to be held in Stockholm on Wednesday 30th November.
Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet recently reported that many of next year’s performers would be returnees, with names such as Lisa Ajax, Robin Bengtsson, Wiktoria, and Boris René mentioned. You can read the full list as well as those rumoured to be making their Melodifestivalen debut next year, here.
As in previous years, the press conference will be streamed live on SVT Play.
Melodifestivalen 2017 kicks off on 4th February at the Scandinavium arena in Gothenburg, with the final taking place at the Friends Arena, Stockholm on 11th March. See the full list of cities and dates below.
