It has been revealed that Norway’s Eurovision selection, Melodi Grand Prix, will take place on 11th March. The show will once again be hosted at the Oslo Spektrum and begin at 8.55pm CET. According to Ticketmaster, tickets will go on sale on Tuesday 20th December. As in 2015 and 2016, Melodi Grand Prix will consist only of a final rather than include heats and semi-finals as in the years before.
International juries and a new promotional strategy
As reported by escXtra last month, Melodi Grand Prix will be re-introducing international juries for 2017. Therefore, there will be “between ten and twelve” international juries determining the winner alongside a public televote. In addition, Jan Fredrik Karlsen, who runs the organisation of the national selection, revealed that a significant focus will be put on promoting their entry in 2017. You can read more about these changes in our article from last month!
Norway will be hoping these changes see them make a return to the Eurovision final in 2017. Their last entry to do so was A Monster Like Me in 2015. Watch the live performance of this below!
