Former Eurovision and Eurovizijos contestants

As is often the case with Eurovizijos, there are several returnees involved in the upcoming selection. Amongst those returning after previously losing out in Eurovizijos include 2015 runner-up Mia, and 2016 finalist Aistė Pilvelytė. Also returning are former Lithuanian Eurovision representatives with 2009 Eurovision finalist Sasha Son and 2014 semi-finalist Vilija Matačiūnaitė amongst the final 51.
A couple of notable names amongst the songwriters and composers also leap out. Part of the team behind Aistė Pilvelytė’s entry for 2017 is Aminata Savadogo. Aminata of course finished 6th for Latvia in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest and also was the driving force behind Justs’ Heartbeat which represented Latvia this year in Stockholm. Furthermore, part of the team behind Audrius Petrauskas’ song is David Sneddon. David won the first season of Fame Academy UK back in 2002 and resulted in him securing a UK #1 hit shortly afterwards.

The marathon begins imminently

We are now set for the beginning of Eurovizijos 2017, due to start next weekend! This marathon selection process will last ten weeks and in mid-March we will know who will succeed Donny Montell as Lithuania’s Eurovision representative.

Ryan Cobb

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
