Rehearsal review

Rehearsing right now inside the Rotterdam Ahoy is Roxen, performing “Amnesia” for Romania. We will continue to update this article as each run through takes place, so make sure to keep refreshing for the most up-to-date review!

Roxen starts at the back of the main stage with a waterfall made out of fog being displayed on the LED screen behind her. She has five dancers lying in front of her on the floor. She then walks “through” the dancers who are now standing in a slalom formation. An elaborate choreography begins, similar to the one in her music video. It becomes very clear that the dancers are her inner demons and she’s fighting them, for example at one time she’s laying on the floor and one of the dancers drags her across the stage.

In the middle of the song, Roxen and her dancers walk over the catwalk onto the B-stage, all while there are silhouettes of arms and people on both the normal and transparent LED screen. The colour scheme is mostly red/black/blue/white. Roxens choreography continues on the B-stage and she attempts to go for the high note at the end but does not quite manage to get there. In the end, Roxen gets picked up at the end and “falls” down into her dancers.

Her second run-through contains of fog, which adds to the atmosphere a lot. Furthermore, camera angles and lighting has slightly been changed to make things tighter.

Rehearsal video clip

We will update the article, once the EBU has uploaded the rehearsal video clip on the official Eurovision channel.
