After last year’s success at Melodifestivalen, Boris René has hung up his boots for a full-time approach to his music career.
He told monthly football magazine, FourFourTwo (FFT), “My club backed me but it was hard to shift focus – singing to so many people on stage, then going to training. I need to give music a shot”, pun clearly intended.
In the February edition of the magazine, FFT report that despite becoming Degerfors’ celebrity player, he’s switched his focus to pop with the aim of representing Sweden on the Eurovision stage in Kyiv.
René’s reaction to being asked if Eurovision was his ‘goal’ (pun intended, again), “That’d be lovely”.
“Her Kiss”, written by Tim Larsson and Tobias Lundgren, opens the first semifinal of Melodifestivalen 2017 in Göteborg.
Last year, “Put Your Love on Me” came tenth in the Melodifestivalen final.
