Joe and Jake are ‘Tongue Tied’ while Darline ‘Fall Deep’ in brand new singles

Just over a week ago, we reported that Joe Woolford had accumulated over one million Facebook views on his cover of Ed Sheeran’s Castle On The Hill. With fans thirsty for more, Joe has reunited with bandmate Jake Shakeshaft for a brand new single. This is of course their first single since You’re Not Alone which represented the United Kingdom at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm last May. The duo were responsible for the UK’s first douze points, courtesy, of Malta since Blue secured the same score from Bulgaria in 2011!

Joe and Jake embrace new acoustic sound!

Joe and Jake’s brand new single is titled Tongue Tied. The song retains elements of their Eurovision entry with its anthemic sound and their strong, distinctive vocal tones. However, rather than having a full-on production as found in You’re Not AloneTongue Tied sees the former The Voice UK contestants embrace a more acoustic vibe. It’s a fantastic progression in sound for them, check it out via Spotify and Apple Music. In addition, the song has already received its first play on the UK’s most popular radio station, BBC Radio 2. Let’s hope it is the first of many!

Darline deliver a new dance-pop vibe!

Also in our recent article, we discussed our excitement for Darline’s brand new single. The girls competed against Joe and Jake in last year’s Eurovision: You Decide with their country-pop tune Until Tomorrow. They have since unveiled the official music video for their new song Fall Deep. Abby and Cára have also changed up their sound, pursuing a very catchy and very on-trend dance-pop vibe. Trust me, you will not get this song out of your head either!

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
