After a nail biting show this evening, Norma John has won the Finnish ticket to Kyiv with her song ‘Blackbird’.
In the International Jury round, Norma John triumphed, receiving 12 points from the United Kingdom, Latvia, Spain, Estonia, Iceland & France. She did just as well in the public vote, topping the leaderboard with 88 points.
The win for Norma may come as a surprise to many, as it had been heavily predicted prior to the show that either Emma or My First Band would take the trophy, having gained support by the Finnish media and Eurovision fans worldwide.
This year’s contest is slowly shaping up to be a ballad-heavy one, with four out of the five selected songs so far being performed by a female and of slow tempo.
